Know why a keyword is stuck,
not just that it is.

Rankzon flags the three problems that hold good keywords back: two of your pages competing for the same search, a top result nobody clicks, and a page that fell out of Google’s index.

Keyword health checks in Rankzon: cannibalization, low CTR and not indexed flags on keywords

Cannibalization

Two pages, one keyword, neither winning

When several of a site’s pages compete for the same search, Google splits the impressions between them and none ranks as well as one strong page would. Rankzon flags a keyword as cannibalized when two or more pages take a real share of its Search Console impressions, or when the page that ranks in our daily checks keeps switching.

The flag lists the competing pages with their impressions, so you can decide which one to keep and merge or redirect the rest.

Low CTR

Ranking in the top 5, getting a fraction of the clicks

Every position has a typical click-through rate. When a keyword in the top 5 with at least 100 impressions gets far fewer clicks than normal for its position, it is flagged, with its actual and expected CTR side by side.

Usually that means the title and description don’t match what people searched for, or a rich result above is taking the clicks. Either way, it is the cheapest traffic you can win: the ranking is already there.

Not indexed

Dropped out of the top 100? Check the index first.

When a keyword drops out of the top 100, Rankzon looks up the page it used to rank with in Google’s URL Inspection tool and tells you whether it is still indexed, and if not, the reason Google gives: blocked, redirected, a canonical elsewhere, crawled but not indexed.

You can also inspect any ranking page on demand from the keyword’s page.

Questions, answered

What is keyword cannibalization?+

Two or more pages of the same site competing for one search. Google splits impressions between them, and none of them ranks as well as a single, clearly best page would.

Do I need Search Console?+

Yes, for the impressions, CTR and index checks. Linking it is free on every plan and takes about a minute.

How is a low CTR decided?+

We compare the keyword’s CTR with the typical CTR for its position. Only top-5 keywords with at least 100 impressions are checked, and only results far below normal are flagged, since CTR naturally varies with ads, rich results and brand searches.

How do I fix cannibalization?+

Pick the page that should rank, then merge the others into it, redirect them, or make them clearly about something else. The flag shows each competing page’s impressions to help you choose.

How often are pages checked for indexing?+

Pages of keywords that dropped out of the top 100 are inspected during the daily Search Console sync, and you can inspect any page on demand.
